• From either Route 28 (exit #11) or from the Allegheny Valley interchange (#48) of the PA Turnpike (PA 76), go south (towards Pittsburgh) on Freeport Road.
  
• Turn left onto Hulton Bridge [1] and cross the Allegheny River into Oakmont.
  
• Follow Hulton Road (Yellow Belt) up the hill, passing Presbyterian SeniorCare and Oakmont Country Club on your left, and then veering right [2]to follow Hulton Road as it winds into Penn Hills. (You will be on Hulton Road for a total of 3.2 miles from the bridge.)
  
• Turn right onto Indiana Road [3]and follow for 1 mile.
  
• At the top of the hill, the Springwood entrance [4] on the left (1000 Indiana Road) is marked by a wooden split-rail fence and stone pillars.
